The Jim Jones Revue – Dishonest John

Release Date 28/03/2011 (Play It Again Sam)

Review by Paul Robinson

Dishonest JohnIf you’re expecting an unbiased critique of “Dishonest John”, you’re not going to get it. The Jim Jones Revue is the best good time rock n roll band around right now.  Dishonest John sums up JJR perfectly: 2 minutes of blistering rock ‘n’ roll blues that you’ve just gotta shake your ass to.

To really appreciate how incendiary the JJR are, you must catch them live. This track has got everything and the kitchen sink, chopped up guitars, bar-room piano and a guitar break halfway through with Jim Jones himself hollering over the whole damn stew.  You’re probably not going to get all hot and sweaty in 2 minutes, but if you pay the ticket price you sure will on the forthcoming tour through March and April.
