Band on the Wall

By Sam Constable

It was a cold day in Manchester when Soul:ution made its last outing at the Roadhouse a couple of years back. After a phenomenal run at the original Band On The Wall then onto the Roadhouse, it brought us a jaw dropping amount of high quality artists, good vibes and most importantly first-class music. But it seemed that Newton Street’s favourite basement just wasn’t cutting it. So Creator & promoter Marcus Intalex decided to call it quits and wait until he could take it back to where it all started.

A few years passed and Manchester’s Drum & Bass scene took a turn for the worse, silly priced car parks and sweat students seemed to rule the roost. Until last October a shining bright light cut through the darkness as the new & improved Band On The Wall re-opened its doors and Soul:ution returned!

This Friday see’s Soul:ution settle into its monthly residency of every last Friday, providing a fix of quality drum & bass music for all the consersiuor of the music world.

With a night that boasts Marcus Intalex, Calibre & MC DRS as residents, most people would be content but obviously not Marcus. Each month we’re treated to another special guest on top of these three pioneers, this month its Commercial Suicide creator and all round musical ground breaking genius, Klute.

Expect something special at Soul:ution, it’s not like other nights. The formula is simple yet perfect. Quality music & a friendly atmosphere in the ideal setting. In all my years of attendance, I’ve yet to leave without a smile on face, not even bothering to venture out again on Saturday because I know it can’t be beat.

In Person: Band on the Wall Box Office from 5pm Mon – Sat & Sun (Concert days only)
