NEWS: The Lovely Eggs

New Single (full stream) + Live Dates + Video

Taken from the bands sophomore album, ‘Cob Dominos’, released on Cherryade in February of this year, ‘Fuck It’ is another single by the Lovely Eggs. Choosing another single from the album proved no easy task, but after witnessing the audience reactions to ‘Fuck It’ at the band’s various UK shows earlier this year, it seemed the natural choice. ‘Fuck It’ is backed with two b-sides, ‘Watermelons’, taken from the album, and the brand new song ‘Band on the Sand’, all of which should help kick off the summer in style. ‘Fuck It’ will be released on ultra-limited edition 7” vinyl on May 30th and will be available direct from the Cherryade website and from selected record shops (distributed by Cargo) and as a download single from iTunes and all major digital outlets.

The Lovely Eggs approach to music has brought them airplay from the likes of Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Bethan Elfyn, Marc Riley, Rob Da Bank, Tom Robinson, Gideon Coe, John Kennedy, Chris Hawkins, Jon Hillcock and Tom Ravenscroft, recording sessions for BBC Radio One, BBC 6 Music and XFM. With releases in the UK, Europe, USA and Japan, their debut album ‘If You Were Fruit’ ( UK and USA) ranked in the top 40 records of the year by Artrocker Magazine and was nominated for XFM’s ‘Debut Album of the Year’. The Lovely Eggs have been featured in Artrocker Magazine, The Guardian as well as Maximum Rock and Roll, and have played hundreds of gigs around the UK, USA and Europe supporting the likes of Shonen Knife, The Slits, The Television Personalities and Eddie Argos. They have performed at SXSW in Austin Texas, where they also recorded with cult musician Jad Fair, who has also asked them to support his band Half Japanese for a rare UK performance at The Scala in May. In January, 2011 The Lovely Eggs released ‘Don’t Look At Me (I Don’t Like It), the first single from the album ‘Cob Dominos’.

The band will embark on a two week tour of the UK on May 19 to promote ‘Fuck It’. In June they fly out to Madrid, before returning to the UK to play a number of festivals, including The Secret Garden Party.
