Legendary dance act Leftfield will join Echo and The Bunnymen and Iggy and The Stooges at the first ever Chester Rocks festival.

The full line-up for the festival at Chester Race Course has recently been announced.

Pop superstar Taio Cruz will headline on Saturday, 2nd July and Iggy and The Stooges close the weekend on Sunday, 3rd July.

McFly, The Saturdays, Sugababes, The Wanted, Eliza Doolittle and The Christians are also appearing on Saturday, while in CityLifers eyes the best has been saved for the Sunday, with The Australian Pink Floyd, Feeder, I Am Kloot, Shaun William Ryder and Lightening Seeds performing.

The Chester Rocks festival looks set to become an integral part of the European summer musical calendar. Richard Thomas, Chief Executive of the Chester Race Company Ltd, says “Chester Rocks is shaping up to be one of the main events in the North West this summer, everybody at the racecourse is very excited to be hosting the first year of the two day festival.

The line-up for the two days has really got something for everyone from McFly and The Wanted through to the godfather of Punk – Iggy Pop. The festival will be an important addition to the City’s events calendar for 2011 and will bring approximately 40,000 people into Chester across the weekend with many of them staying in the city overnight, shopping and visiting local restaurants.”

Day tickets cost just £47.50 each, weekend tickets £85.00. Information on the full line-up and how to buy tickets is available on the official website.
